Front Range Favorites

Subworks Deli

If you've kept up with The Prairie Scholars at all in the last year, I'm sure you already know how much we love Subworks Deli. We brag on them all the time and talk about their delicious sandwiches. It's only natural that they are one of our Front Range Favorites. Subworks has an excellent crew of people driving the bus. They are a locally owned sub shop and the faces behind the magic, Tim and Sarah Test, are some dear friends of ours. They have a long history with Subworks, starting out as employees and ending up owning the whole shop. Even though they are the bigwigs now, they haven't lost touch with the customers. Every once in a while, one of them will still show up at our door with our delivery for the day. We ordered so many sandwiches during one of our long recording spells that every time we'd call in they knew who we were and would almost always give us what they called the "Folk Star Discount". That's just the kind of people they are, they make every customer feel special and make real connections with the people around them.

Subworks Deli is the proud home of "The Prairie Scholars Chicken Caprese Sandwich". Now, you might think my opinion is biased, but seriously, this is my favorite sandwich at this joint. It comes with basil pesto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, fresh basil leaves, roasted chicken, a balsamic glaze, and a little sprinkle of salt. They also have "The Veggie Scholar", which is the same sandwich but with no chicken and extra mozz and tomatoes. I have perfected and personalized my PS sandwich, just as you should. I order mine on flatbread, sometimes with bacon. One great thing to note about Subworks is that they are always happy to accommodate personal preferences and they encourage you to try add-ons, mix it up, and make a sandwich unique to your taste.

Subworks has a great menu of soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. They deliver anywhere in Longmont and they always bring your sandwich with a smile. If you are new to Longmont, just visiting, or even a long-standing resident that just needs to try something new, Subworks Deli should be at the top of your list for lunch. Give them a try!
